![]() ![]() ![]() Thankfully, that doesn't apply here, so I'll leave it at that. As an ex-loot box addict, I know personally the impact such gambling mechanics can have on one financially and psychologically for that matter. I say "specific" because I am opposed to loot box style microtransactions where money is essentially gambled for a chance at something good from a pool of potential rewards. ![]() I have no problem with a simple in-game transaction offering a specific cosmetic in return. I think microtransactions in any game are fine, as long as they only offer cosmetic items, ones that don't offer any in-game advantages over other players. Microtransactions in minecraft were way worse back in the day than they are now. This is enough, for me, at least, to say that now its in the game, it can exist, even if I would rather it not. The marketplace actually supports the livelihoods of thousands of studios and people. But the reason why I think its fine enough to live with and not complain about is that its not all made by the creators. They are not, they shouldn't be in games fullstop. Why? Not because microtransactions are exusable. Seriously, why couldn't the skin and texture packs have been free on the console editions, Aren't you swimming in enough money already? The marketplace, overall, is meh. I honestly dislike the way microtransactions were handled in the console editions way more than anything to do with the marketplace, as it was all made by the developers. People seem to forget that, that microtransactions were in minecraft way before bedrock was even a thing. But they were way worse when they were first introduced to minecraft back in 2012. I would say that as a concept, the marketplace is a bad idea microtransactions in minecraft are a bad idea. The way some people who play java only portray bedrock has always kinda annoyed me (I play both versions) The way they talk about it you'd expect it to be a version where it's constantly pestering you to buy minecoins and worlds and stuff, and Microsoft pockets it all, and yeah, while it talks about stuff on the marketplace more often than I would like (never), thats still very occasional (basically whenever something new by mojang has came out).
